Wal-Mart exploits their workers and utilizes child labor. Help Athens keep its charming small businesses and continue to flourish. I refuse to condone a Wal-Mart opening in downtown Athens and if you care for our town so should you!

It’s been proven time and again that Wal-Mart causes small businesses to shut down. Our city thrives on these local mom and pop shops — we’re known for our downtown area. If Wal-Mart lands in town, it’s going to crush our people. The first thing to go? The Jittery Joe’s roastery is on the plot of land they’re planning on buying. What does that mean for all of our shops that buy locally roasted coffee?

Please help my town survive.
